Policies

If you have any questions, please contact us, and we will be happy to answer them.

For faster service, please complete the Boarding Agreement prior to check-in. Note that this agreement provides us with the ability to care for your cat while you are unable to make decisions for its care and safety.

For The Safety Of Your Cats, The Cat Cottage Follows These Policies:

A – Vaccinations

  1. We do not accept cats without standard vaccinations completed at least two weeks prior to boarding.
  2. Please ask your veterinarian’s office which vaccinations are necessary while staying in a cat boarding facility to ensure the safety of your cat and others.
  3. If your cat is excused from our vaccination requirements, a signed letter from your veterinarian will need to be provided.

B – Flea Control

  1. We require that owners have their cats on a flea prevention program as recommended by your veterinarian. This needs to be done at least one week before boarding.  –Vancouver Island is a haven for fleas due to climate and environmental conditions. They can attach themselves onto your shoe or piece of clothing and enter into your home environment.
  2. Should it be necessary, we will follow the veterinary recommendations and treat your cat. This will be an additional fee which will be added to your final invoice.

C – Registration And Arrival

  1. For safety reasons, cats must arrive and depart in their pet carrier. Please have it labelled with their name and your contact information.
  2. Every cat is given a documented “Personal Care Plan” which is created at check-in. This ensures that The Cat Cottage has the knowledge needed to care for your cat.
  3. We will document your cat’s behaviour and temperament to aid our observing any changes.

D – For the safety of the staff and other cats, the Cat Cottage will no longer be serving raw food.

E – Inappropriate Elimination

The Cat Cottage can no longer accommodate cats who are known to urinate outside of the litter box.  Please discuss this issue prior to booking. An additional daily fee will apply if incontinence or inappropriate elimination occurs.
